Cetan Energy, LLC, retained Partners Chris Reynolds and Jeremy Doyle to prosecute claims against Alta Cetan LLC, a joint venture between Cetan Energy and Alta Resources, LLC, and Joseph Greenberg, Alta Cetan’s chief executive officer and a member of its board of managers. Alta Cetan was formed in May 2014 in order to exploit Cetan Energy’s proprietary ideas and plans for investing in oil and gas properties located in the Bakken Shale. Alta Resources and Cetan Energy each owned 50% of the membership interests in Alta Cetan and worked together to market the new company to potential investors. The case settled on confidential terms two weeks after Chris and Jeremy deposed Atla’s key witnesses.
