Defended Bessemer Trust when it came under attack from a father who wanted gain access to substantial assets held in trust by Bessemer for the benefit of his children. After failing to gain direct access to the assets, the father then “adopted” his adult girlfriend in hopes of qualifying her as a “child” with rights to one-third of the trust assets. All attempts by the father to breach the trust ultimately failed.
