Reynolds Frizzell LLP obtained yet another victory in an oil and gas case for one of its clients. On behalf of a subsidiary of BPX Energy, attorneys Chris Hogan and Harris Wells filed a lawsuit in Loving County, Texas, against Double Eagle Natural Resources. Both BPX and Double Eagle claimed ownership of valuable mineral rights located in the Permian Basin, and each party moved for summary judgment. After thorough briefing and argument before the trial court, Reynolds Frizzell prevailed on behalf of BPX, securing ownership of the property and defeating Double Eagle’s cross motion for summary judgment.
